Pinewood Derby for cub scouts was this week for Joshua and Jakob. Jakob wanted a "Y" car, so Ronny came up with this design. He really liked the way it looked and it won the award -Out of this World Design with a Milky Way candy bar. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very fast racer. Poor kid, it came in last every time, but one of the wheels was messed up and after seeing the track, we figure that maybe all the weight in the front wasn't the best game plan. Well, maybe better luck next year for Jakob. I really like the design myself too.
Joshua's car had a little more success. He got a record time on one run and it came in first place a couple of times, but it still wasn't quite fast enough to be able to go to districts. The boys still had fun and even some of the dads got to race their own derby cars. The one shaped like the TRON car was the fastest "dad" derby car, but I'm not sure if it beat out one or two of the cub scout cars. There were some fast little cars.
