My Uncle Wayne and Auntie Ilene came to visit us on Friday from Hawaii. This is the first time our kids and Ronny were able to meet them. In fact, this is only the second time since I left Hawaii as a toddler that I have met up with him. They have a timeshare in Vegas and came up to visit us for a few hours. Of course they came bearing gifts from Hawaii. Some pretty flowers for the girls' hair, kukui nut leis, strawberry guava jam, portuguese-hawaiian bread, and macadamia nut cookies.
If you know what my dad looks like and if you saw a close up of my uncle, you would definitely be able to tell that they were brothers. It's amazing how similar they are in their mannerisms, even after many, many years of being apart from one another. It was so fun to visit with them even though it was too short! The kids had fun playing with their great uncle too.
