It was a cold day on Thursday when we went to Staheli Farm. The kids had a Fall Activity with K12 there. Just wished it had been a little warmer. It was the first day that we really had to wear jackets and hats. The wind was just COLD and blowing like crazy! Despite the wind, we all had a good time. These people are super creative. Had to take some pics of their creations. This is their sign made out of sticks and a tree trunk.
This scary guy is one of their pumpkins that has been completely dried out and made into a pumpkin. Apparently, pumpkins don't turn orange of their own accord. They have to be stressed and forced to turn orange. In cold areas, they turn orange at the first freeze, but since it doesn't happen soon enough where we live they "stress" them by not watering them. Just a little tidbit we learned when the kids visited the pumpkin patch. I think this pumpkin may have been green when they cut it into a Jack-o-Lantern.

The kids assigned teacher, Mrs. Kelley, took this picture of our family at the entrance of the corn maze. She was nice enough to watch Eli while we took the rest of the kids through the maze. We had a map, but we still got lost and had to back track to find our way, but it was still fun and I got some pics of the kids in the maze.
Caleb found a corn stock outside and he thought it made a good sword. We found out later that another little girl had taken it out of the maze and thought that he had stolen it from her. She gave him the dirtiest look when he put it back where he found it.
Elena had fun on her horsey. YeeHaw!
They had a lot of farm animals, but I was having a hard time carrying Eli around and taking pics, so I only got one animal pic, but thought it was funny that there was one pig in with all the goats.
This is their horse and bull merry-go-round. All made out of old tires. Joshua had fun riding it and then he was nice enough to pull it around for the other kids who wanted to ride.
This is the hay stack that the kids had to climb up to get on the rope swing. Joshua swung first and then Jakob. It took a couple of tries to get a good swing, but they got the hang of it.
