This week we got some wonderful rain in southern Utah. We also have had a bird's nest in one of our trees. Whether it was from the rain or from something else, we're not sure, but a baby bird fell out of the nest and the kids found it lying on the ground. We told them not to touch it, because the mama bird may not want to come feed it if it had human scent on it. Well after some googling on the internet we found out that this only applies to the eggs of birds, and that we should try to get the baby back into the nest. The kids were very concerned and they wrote these notes and pictures for the bird. Also they told me that they were going to say a prayer for the bird so that it would be okay and so that the mama bird would come back and feed her baby. It was so cute! They went in the back yard and I peeked out the window and saw all of them, including some neighbor kids kneeling on the ground saying a little prayer. That was a special sight to see.
This was Jakob's pic and note. He called the bird Brave, because he thought he must have to be very brave to have fallen out of the tree.
