Ronny is taking a Children's Lit. class this semester and for one his assignments, he had to read a book to some 3rd grade students on their literary night at a school in Ivins. It was alot of fun for the kids. They always enjoy a good book. This was our F.H.E. on Monday night.
Two of the college students read the book Today, I Feel Silly. They had a big box of different silly hats and let each of the kids choose a hat to feel silly in. Jakob is a cowboy, Elena looks like she chose a Strawberry Shortcake hat, Joshua chose a Goofy hat, Caleb chose a wizard hat. He told us afterwards, with great enthusiasm how much he loved that wizard hat. He just wished he could keep it.
Ronny got to dress up like Jack Sparrow and he read the book Pirates Don't Change Diapers to the kids. The kids always love to see him all dressed up like that. The only problem was that most of the other kids there were kind of shy and didn't have the courage to speak when he asked them a question. Glad to know that this costume has paid itself off after 3 years of use.
These two girls dressed up really well for the book they read to the kids. It was from the series Time Warp Trio. It was called The Good, the Bad, and the Goofy. A fun little chapter book that I would recommend for 2nd or 3rd graders.
The kids were listening intently to their readers.
