Still Can't Believe Eli is "6"

This handsome little fella turned 6 on March 26. I have always said that he is going to be a little lady killer when he gets older. He is such a sweet boy and that personality with that face might just be irresistible to some girls.

I am still in denial that he is "6." Can't he just stay "5?"

Some fun memories of Eli this year:

~He had an extra tooth in between his front two adult teeth. It was causing his adult teeth to face inward, so in January, we had to take him up north to an Orthopedic Surgeon to get his extra tooth removed. The picture below is me and him after he had just woken up from his surgery.  I had gotten 4 hours of sleep, so I look pretty rough, but glad that all went well for my little buddy. Dr. Egbert was amazing and I would highly recommend him if anyone is in need of an oral surgeon. Apparently, he does these kinds of surgeries almost weekly. Who knew that having an extra tooth was such a common occurrence?

~He is still learning to read. He can sound out words, but we are still working on learning our sight words better and getting faster at reading in general.

~He likes to draw and create things. He is very creative when it comes to putting together household items that we would normally throw away and make something of his own creation. That being said, he is sometimes a little bit of a hoarder. After all, he needs to collect things for future creations. That's all good and well, except we just don't have the room to store all of his  knick knacks, so unless he creates something right away, with it, we have to throw it away. I'm sad, we can't foster more of his creativeness, but hopefully we can find other ways for him to create. 

~He is still a story teller, which is cute. But sometimes, we have to help him understand when stories are good and when telling the truth is what really needs to happen. 

~He is SUPER excited for the new baby to come, so he can love on it. He has always loved babies and he told me that he just wished that the baby could come out right now, so he could see it and hold it. He is the most anxious of all my kids about seeing this baby. At least, he is the most vocal about it.

~He loves to stand on his head and do pull ups. He is constantly standing on his head on one of the stairs, often without his hands on the ground. He is very strong for a little kid and you can see his little six pack when he flexes.

We are thankful for this little ball of energy and hope he always stays sweet.
