My Baby is "2"

We celebrated Eli's birthday after Ronny got off of work. He loves strawberries and since it is strawberry season, we decided to give him strawberry shortcake for his birthday cake. He loved it, as you can see.

Well, in my mind, we no longer have a baby in our house. It's kind of crazy to think that my little guy is 2. He's had an eventful 2 years of life, but he's still going strong. He has really started to understand what we tell him and he's communicating with us a lot more. He loves to jump. His muscley little legs are a testament to that. He is soo strong! I know, because when he tries to fight me during a diaper change, I usually can't hold him by myself. He loves the outdoors. He would stay outside all day if we let him. He still has that mischievous smile that makes it really hard to be upset with him when he is doing something he shouldn't be. But we sure love his smiles and his laughs. They bring us so much happiness. He has so much energy, I wish I could steal some of it for myself sometimes. He still wants to be big like his brothers and sister. He is always trying to do something "big." For example, today in nursery at church, he didn't want to stay until he could help get all the chairs down to set around the little nursery table. This must have qualified as a "big" thing to do, because he was so happy in nursery after that. Ronny said that 2 other little boys that are a few months younger than him started following his lead and started putting all the chairs around the little table. Wish I could have seen that. One other thing about our little ball of energy, he still loves to dance. He's a little dancing machine. His sister is one of his best playmates and he misses her when she goes to play at her cousin's house. He notices when she is gone and calls for her all around the house. It's so cute and sad at the same time, because he just wants his best friend to play with. She keeps him busy and out of trouble, most of the time. He also thinks he should play Wii with his brothers and sister. He gets so upset when he doesn't get a Wii remote. Mostly, his brothers cater to his every need. Caleb is a tease to him, but that's just the way he is. Also he gives fantastic hugs. We are still working on the kisses. He does that when he wants to. I think that sums up our little bumpkin. We love our little Eli man and are so grateful to have him as part of our family.
